There are no alien structures on LV-426. The ship in Prometheus is carrying black goo vases, but no eggs. The one in Alien lots of identical eggs, but no black goo. So what is the same? The Space Jockey in Alien is a giant 'human' in a suit. .The biggest problem is the Space Jokey is twice as tall as the Engineer. They would have been massive compared with the Engineers.
The Engineers, also known as Pilots[2] (after the individual discovered on LV-426), Space Jockeys,[3] Ossians[1] or Mala'kak,[4] were an ancient extraterrestrial species of unknown origin. They possessed some of the most . But the Space Jockey is not the same Engineer from Prometheus even though the ship is the same and the suit and helmet are the same. Some time in 2122, a warning signal being broadcast from the derelict was detected by Weyland-Yutani .Just did a deep dive into this subreddit and basically the canon issues surrounding Prometheus and Covenant. It’s like they had one job: explain the space jockey origins on LV 426. Nope decades later and 3 movies by Ridley Scott we still don’t get a plausible explanation. Space jockey was the coolest part of the original alien film.I like the idea of the Space Jockey being the creators of the Engineers who in turn copied their ship designs and wiped them out, but no one cares about differences in production design to justify convoluting the lore like that. .Scrutinizing it more closely it could very easily be a aesthetic upgrade on Scott's choice, or as I theorized earlier an older model of the same pilot interface, in fact looking at the space jockeys arm and comparing it to the earlier 2000 year old corpses in Prometheus, I could easily believe the derelict is simply another vessel from LV-223 .
LV-426 - Space Jockey Xenomorph? Discussion / Question So, I'm very new to this group so I'm sorry if this has been brought up before. But in the original film we meet the 'space jockey' and as the film points out that it died via a chest burster. However, where did this Xenomorph go? I could be completely wrong here.

The whole mystery behind the original movie that had audiences intrigued, the whole point of making a prequel at all, was the question: who is the Space Jockey and how did he end up on LV-426? That's what we wanted answered for 33 years, not who is a completely different space jockey on a completely different planet and why are these characters .We all know that the derelict space jockey/engineer ship on LV-426 was the source of the aliens that lead to the disastrous results depicted in Alien and Aliens, so obviously a major threat. In Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection, we're lead to believe the aliens in those films are the last remaining ones that exist.
The Space Jockey in Alien is old enough to be fossilised. Possibly by the same events that wiped out the Engineers in Prometheus (2000 years ago according to Shaw's carbon dating) but too close to Alien's dates to be the same one. The planets have different names: LV-223 in Prometheus and LV-426 in Alien.
Based on the Space Jockey’s decay, I had the impression that the Derelict had been sitting for an extremely long time. At least several decades, if not centuries. . Prometheus went go LV-223, which orbits the same gas giant LV-426 does, and they didn't pick up the broadcast. If you just flew over two years towards a planet that is 1, the .The mystery of the LV-426 derelict craft, its fossilized space jockey, and its cargo has always been the core of Alien, a film already chock full of novel horror elements. We had interspecies rape and body horror; parasitic lovecraftian beings we originally appreciated for their sexual, humanoid, Gigerian nature; not the scampering ant-like .It’s also contradictory to David or the engineers creating the xenomorph that a space jockey has a ship full of them. So either 1) David or the engineers did create them, space jockeys tried to use them as a bio weapon 2) space jockeys created them 3) the xeno evolved naturally and the space jockeys tried to control them
My guess is the Space Jockey had been stationed on LV-223 and was the first pilot to be deployed on the planned mission to wipe out humanity, but he was forced to crash on LV-426 when a facehugger got loose and impregnated him. Once he woke up afterwards and saw the dead facehugger, he initiated the warning beacon and accepted his sure .It was originally meant to be the same ship, but they changed the story at some point so that they were not landing on LV-426. In Prometheus, they land on LV-223. Reply reply . Watching Alien just now and it’s exactly the same as in Prometheus - the space jockey etc andI'm so glad there's finally a movie about the space jockey. I remember watching "Alien" as a kid and being terrified of the elephant man. . it's a very old one by that time. It would be the equivalent of morse code in another hundred years. Or maybe the space jokey did set it up as a warning to his own people, but I would have thought that .

This might even have further implications - for example the engineers tried to continue creating 'the perfect organism' in their own image, creating humans, however the Space Jockeys abandoned that idea/focused on their true perfect organism - the xenomorph.
It became LV 426's smartest and dumbest organism, because it was all alone. It had no one to share its tales with, and the eggs at the derelict never were good company. . The space jockey, being a biomechanical integrated into/grown with the ship, was a sitting target for the face hugger. Edit : downvoted haha Reply replyAlso the original concept was that the Space Jockey was a different species to the Alien-Worshiping humanoids found in the pyramid that just fell into the same trap as the Nostromo. So there is room for different interpretations in future films. Reply replyI have a theory about the Space Jockeys - they are a separate species from the Engineers. I think the Space Jockeys created the Engineers The Engineers tried to model themselves after their creators (duplicating their appearance for the suits, space craft design, etc) but not quite getting it right, so everything is less biomechanical. The Space Jockey also has among other minor differences, much longer arms compared to the Engineers. Here is the Engineer in the chair. His arms are clearly much shorter. In the original A The Engineer also doesn't bother to wear the apparent space suits that are hanging up. Because they're not space suits.
